the work continues. . .
day 7...the first truckload of stone arrived. its beautiful stuff, and we need a lot of it for the central plaza. i went out to the mine a couple weeks ago to select the stone with the mayor, engineer, and contractor. we were looking for just the right quality and thickness for the plaza. its not cheap but i think its going to look nice!
day 8...we are taking great care to maintain the ¨historic¨monuments that currently reside in the park. they will remain in the casa de la cultura until their further installation in the new park.
day 9...and then there are the beloved concrete benches. i´ve heard enough stories from older members of the community who shared first kisses with their boy/girlfriends here in this park sitting on one of these benches. so, they will be saved, painted and relocated in other parts of the community to live happily ever after!
